Bio

As managing partner and co-founder of Ingenuity, Susan brings extensive expertise to the day-to-day operations and direction of the firm and its members, as well as providing key legal counsel to clients in a wide range of areas within corporate, commercial and securities law.

Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2002, Susan received a Bachelor of Science (1994), Bachelor of Education (1995) and a Bachelor of Laws (2000) from Queen’s University. She also holds a Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards & Tribunals from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators. Prior to beginning her law career, she spent a short time living and working in the People’s Republic of China as a teacher.

Susan’s track record of excellence extends long prior to the establishment of Ingenuity. She previously practiced corporate and securities law with Stikeman Elliott LLP, and most recently served as managing partner and a founding member of Allen & Co. LLP. Her experience also includes a prestigious appointment by the Lieutenant-Governor to the Council for the College of Medical Radiation Technologists, where she continues to serve today.

In addition to providing a dynamic source of leadership throughout the everyday operations of Ingenuity, Susan is a dedicated and active member of her community, with a focus on improving the lives of children and youth through athletics. Susan believes in using sport as an avenue to reach children and youth; encouraging them to work harder, aim higher and be enriched by the positive values teamwork instills. She sees these successes first hand as coach, manager and convener for a number of local sports teams and divisions. Through her most recent charitable venture, a self-made non-profit organization launching later this year, Susan will set out to improve the experiences of new Canadians through the transformative power of sport.

Susan prides herself on being the mother of three fabulous children, a cancer survivor, an Ironman athlete and a novice wine connoisseur.
